Boardwalks and Thorpe Meadows

There are a few walks around this area in Peterborough, all based around the Meadows area. But this describes one called Boardwalks and is part of a nature reserve. Download the map from the Froglife website or start the walk at the side of the pub over the small bridge. You'll find a sign showing you 3 different routes. Boardwalks is the purple route. We did find it hard to follow but you can't get lost. The short walk around wooden boards through wetlands is pleasant, note after heavy rain the area can be flooded. After that try the other routes by the river which you can walk all the way into the city. There is also Creighton Wood and a large walk around the rowing lake. So quick or long walks. Dogs on leads near the lake but there are routes we're dogs can run free. Park near The Boathouse pub/rowing lake. 1 hour is free or £2.50 all day. Stop for lunch at the pub, which is nice.
