If you like mixing a walk with history, try Belvoir Castle. A gorgeous castle with grounds. Dogs are not allowed in the castle but they are allowed in the grounds and landscaped gardens. The immediate gardens all have themes and are very pretty. There are both long and short walks here. See the website to download them. Some are several hours. It is pricey, £12. But take a picnic and stay a while. There is a lovely pub and shopping area over the road as well.

Location details
Parking on site in a proper car park. There is a step path up to the house. The website says 15mins but if you are able bodied then I'd say less than 5mins. The castle is well sign posted.
