The Trent and Mersey Canal path from Branston to Barton Marina is a relatively long but even route with several bridges, locks, and the opportunity to view wildlife along the way.
You can park at The Bridge Inn (which does delicious food) or at Branston Water Park.
To extend the walk, you can even start in Shobnall (DE14 2BB) and start your walk there, heading south along the canal path towards Branston and Barton.
