To avoid walking near the playing fields (lead on areas) follow road to the right when entering and park in the furthest car park. Walk up to the canal path and turn right. This route goes past the Basingstoke Canal Centre and you can walk for miles along the canal but remember that it will be the same route back.
Both Frimley Lodge park and Basingstoke Canal Centre have free parking, refreshments, toilets and kids play parks but check opening times before going.
Paths occasionally get a bit muddy but is passable generally. After the canal centre there may be some road walking needed.

Good walk, a few cyclists make the walk a little tight at times. Overall a nice quiet walk, with pleasant surroundings -
