Nestled inside the horseshoe shape of Brighton Racecourse, Sheepcote Valley is a sudden area of green marking the edge of Brighton. Walk immediately south toward the sea parallel to the race track for good views of the coastal Brighton. You could continue past the golf course to Kemp Town and Brighton Marina. However, I wouldn't be tempted into the centre section of the area. It's quite scrubby and best appreciated from a distance. The area is fenced off, and is popular for off-lead walking. Don't let your dog onto the racecourse itself though. There could be horses.
