Distance = 0.9 miles Elevation = 279-368ft (var = 89ft)Footwear = shoes are usually sufficient as the site is well drain due to elevation even when wetDug mud factor = muddy paws at worstView = fantastic view of Salisbury town, cathedral & the runway 06/24 of Old Sarum airfield with traffic departing/arriving overhead

Hudson field next door and can park there and walk up to old sarum. Can walk outer or inner rings. Loads fields lower down can walk through to extend walk. Can do short or make walks longer. Few odd muddy spots in winter, top outer ring can be clay type mud. Plus couple spots in fields most mostly ok all year though. Good place to go -

As a member of English Heritage a visit to the castle plus a jaunt around the outside made for a great walk. -

Gorgeous views, very hilly so can be difficult when raining
