About this walk

A beautiful beach walk from Shanklin to Sandown seafront on the Isle of Wight, alternatively you can start in Sandown and walk to Shanklin and back. You can choose to walk on the beach or along the raised path. The beach does have restrictions with dogs being allowed at certain times of the year so check the signage, the path is open to dogs all year round though. There is paid parking on the seafront in Shanklin or Sandown, or you can use one of the car parks. There are cafe’s on the route which are dog friendly. The walk takes approximately an hour to walk there and back depending on your fitness level.

Location details

Best to park on the Esplanade if starting from the Shanklin end. From the seafront you will be able to see Sandown Pier which you walk towards until you get there.
