There are no bins at the parking area, so make provisions for any doggy-bags!
From the parking, follow the river downstream- there are plenty of signs to keep you on track, but pretty much follow the river.
There is a path for some of the way, though sometimes you just walk though fields- Wyre Walks have signs marking the way.
The dog can stay off the lead most of the way, though I always put his back on when other dogs approached where the path was narrow.
It's a beautiful walk. We walked 2 miles downstream, though the path went further. We had a picnic on the river bank then headed back, so a lovely 4 mile stroll.

Went today with my two children and two dogs. It was a fantastic walk and the dogs could go off the lead all the time. Take some spare clothes for the kids so they can dip in the water and a towel for the dogs -

Lovely peaceful Sunday afternoon stroll with hubby, 13 year old daughter and 3 year old cocker spaniel. It was raining but didn’t spoilt the walk. The dog loved being able to go in the water as it was shallow. -

Absolutely love this walk. All off lead and loads to explore. Mainly dog walkers who come here, especially in wintery months. -

Absolutely loved this walk with my three water loving border collies!! Lots of access for them to splash around and be lead free!! We went early evening and only saw one other couple it was so peaceful and the scenery is just beautiful. It’s definitely somewhere we’ll go again, a hidden gem in Lancashire!
