This is a fantastic dog walk, we've walked up there many times for hours and still not explored anywhere near everywhere. You can either walk to the top of the crag or along the bottom through the forests. As far as I know there are two car parks, but there could be more.
There are woodland areas to explore and plenty of different paths to take. There are some major hills depending on which routes you take and it can be slippy and trippy underfoot! There are 'kissing gates' and some styles to climb over on certain routes, although many have gaps nearby for dogs to pass through. There can be cows on the lower route of the crag and horse riders do, amazingly, take their horses on the higher routes. Both car parks have bins for litter and dog waste which is handy.

My terrier absolutely loved clambering up this hill! Loads of smells, lots to explore. Would have stayed all day but the biting insects love me. Watch for ticks. -
