Nature Reserve

Plenty of birds including swans, cormorants, geese, ducks etc. Several hides that people can watch the birds from, dogs obviously not allowed in the hides. Two or three different options to walk. The walk is actually on It is actually on Godney Moor, which is near Westhay.
Note from Walkiees:
From 15th August 2022, dogs will only be allowed on the public rights of way (the droves) at Westhay Moor NNR and Catcott nature reserve. Dogs will no longer be permitted on any central permissive paths on both reserves. On public rights of way, dogs must remain on a lead or under close control, remaining on the paths at all times, be visible and in close proximity to their owners. Please bear this in mind if travelling and visiting this area.

Parking at Westhay now costs £3 but can be paid on line at home before setting out or within 48 hours of your visit. Cameras record your reg number as you enter and exit.
Nature Reserve
This walk has been marked as a nature reserve. Dogs are usually welcome however restrictions may apply.
Each nature reserve has its own rules regarding dog walking, and some may not allow dogs. Kindly keep an eye out for the relevant signs within the reserve or visit the reserve's website before your visit for more information.
In most nature reserves, it's kindly requested to keep dogs on a lead at all times. Allowing dogs to roam off-lead can create issues or cause distress to livestock and wildlife.
If you see other visitors, please put your dog on lead whilst you are walking near them. Nature reserves are for the benefit of wildlife and frequently host educational visits.
Some nature reserves have dog poo bins, but if you can’t find one please take the waste home with you.

Sign posted from the road, easy to find. Flat walk, dogs loved the run, very well maintained. Water on both sides of the path, hidden by reeds. Wonderful tea room, Annie’s Tea Room open Monday to Friday BA6 5TN, dogs welcome x -

Nice walk on the droves. Dogs no longer allowed on the reserve due to people allowing their dogs to jump in the lakes.
