Forest of Dean - Speech House

The forest of dean is massive, so there are lots of walks to follow or make one up as you go along for an adventure, most of the trails are path, but some are a bit more natural and uneven. The best place to park is a free car park before Speech House Hotel, Speech House Rd, Coleford GL16 7EG. The trail we followed was a circular walk combined with the Forest of Deans Colliers trail, begin to follow the signs and direct of the path to the left of the entrance to the carpark, this is the beginning of the sculpture trail which is also a lovely walk. We turned left at speech house and down the hill towards speech house lake and followed our route from there using way markers toward Lower whitelea green and cannop ponds and back round to the village of Broadway, continue following the path up to the old quarry at wimberry slade, turning right which is the paths back to the cark park. There is wild boar, deer and other wildlife, as well as a main road so its advisable to keep you dog on a lead when near these but the majority of the time our dog spent off lead exploring.
