Lovely, chilled walk. Loads of room for dog off lead and choice of either path, which is ideal for wheelchair users, prams etc and forest walk for adventurers!! With a nice cafe or ice cream at the end. Parking is ample but did get busy on a sunny day, so maybe get there early ish! Happy walking! -

Amazing walk. Loved paddling in the river in the summer, and the dogs loved exploring the woods. Some of the paths are quite steep, but they're generally flat and even. Overall a very picturesque, peaceful walk. -

I lovethis magical place. I park at the picnic area in Cotton Dell then walk to the bridge first (far left hand side) to see the neautful water falls- my dog and children like to have a paddle sometimes here. I then turn around and follow the old train line, past the old platforms, private fishing area, beautiful meadow and under the next bridge then follow the path to the left where there starts a gradient and carry on up to see the famous chained oak (it's a shame that most of the chains have been ripped off it now). If you head back towards the bridge and go over it and follow that path you come to a road and a beautiful tea spot 'The Ramblers Retreat which serves amazing food and drinks - not just for you but the dog too x -
